1970 Triumph Tiger 650 TT6R

by Gary Plank

This is my 1970 Triumph Tiger 650 TR6R. The bike is stock except that someone along the way chromed the fork tubes. This bike is a rider and not a show bike.

This is the history of this bike as far as I know it. The Tiger was rescued in the 80’s from the streets of San Francisco by my friend John Rivera. He spotted it in sad shape with a white spray can paint job and a for sale sign. When I first saw his new prize I was not impressed and hoped he did not give too much for it. John was a furniture finisher by trade and before long she was sporting the correct spring gold paint job, repainted frame and the mismatched parts, nuts and bolts replaced with the correct ones. I was impressed. He rode the bike for many years along Skyline and in the Marin Headlands until poor health forced him to sell it to me.

The girl in the photo is my daughter. She got the Raber’s Parts Mart t-shirt from Bob when she took time out on her birthday to give me a ride to San Jose to pick up my bike.
