"Brit Iron" SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
February 07, 2015

"BRIT IRON" takes you behind the scenes at
Classic-British-Motorcycles.com

Feb 2015 - Issue #37

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

WE’RE GONNA BE ON THE TEEVEE!
As mentioned last week in Brit Iron #36, the producer of the History Channel television series ”American Pickers” contacted me about using some of our images on their show. As it turns out, the boys are on the hunt for a ’69 Norton Commando and needed a still photo of one for the show. They contacted me about it, and I happily obliged.

ABOVE: This is the '69 Commando I sent them pictures of, maybe 10 images from various angles. I'm not sure which one they'll use, but this is the bike. Watch for it.

NO SUGAR TONIGHT
However, as part of their contract, I can’t use a URL (website address) in the credits of their show, and that’s the name of my business, ”Classic-British-Motorcycles.com”. There isn’t anything else I could call it that would tell people who we are. If I just put Classic-British-Motorcycles, what would that accomplish? So, I ended up using my personal name, Andy Tallone (you may see it in the credits). It was my hope to somehow promote my website through this added exposure. But it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. So, I guess I’ll just have to be happy with the next best thing: Bragging Rights!

SAME BAT TIME...SAME BAT CHANNEL
And what good are bragging rights if no one saw what you’re bragging about, right? So, I’m telling you all about it now in hopes that you'll tune in. The episode in question will air this coming Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 9:00pm (I’m not sure which time zone). Just look for the current (new) episode of American Pickers this next Wednesday night.

AMERICAN PICKERS
9:00pm Wednesday, Feb 11th

ABOVE: This isn't the first old motorcycle Frank (left) and Mike (right) have foraged for.

DON’T MISS IT
Just make sure not to blink. They’ll be showing one image and it will probably last all of about two seconds. Oh well. But at least my Brit Iron faithful will see it, and will know that we’re slowly but surely taking over the world...no, what? I meant to say that we are continuing to grow and expand our reach toward our ultimate goal of being the worlds greatest website about Classic British Motorcycles. And if maybe we can introduce some new fans to our obsession along the way, then all the better, I say.

AMERICAN PICKERS
9:00pm Wednesday, Feb 11th

And, as a fringe benefit, you get to watch the show and follow Mike and Frank in their search for a classic Norton Commando.

CONTEST!
Find the Flub!!

TEST YOUR NORTON KNOWLEDGE
I’m sure Mike and Frank know a lot about motorcycles. But let’s see how much they really know about old British bikes, or better yet, classic Nortons. And I’m willing to bet that some of you are world-class experts on the subject. So here is my challenge to all of you:

Find any errors made on the show about Brit bikes or Nortons in particular. They might misquote the displacement or the model designation, or the horsepower rating, or wheel & tire size. Who knows? Maybe they have a good research team and they won’t make any mistakes.

THE BIG PRIZE
But, if you catch one, and you’re right, and you send it in, I will send you a gorgeous 13” X 19” Norton Commando poster on photo paper that will knock your socks off when you see it. If you are a winner (yes, there could be more than one), I’ll contact you for your mailing address so I can send you your prize. Good luck.

ABOVE: This drop-dead gorgeous '71 Commando was at one of the studio shoots I did at the Clubmans Show in 2011. This high-resolution, high-quality image will be printed on poster-size 13" X 19" high-gloss photo paper. It will blow you away when you see it!

ENTER HERE once you've seen the show and spotted an error. Good luck.
