Hesketh (selection) V1000 and Vampire 1981/2 models

I have owned 5 different Hesketh's in V1000 and Vampire spec over a 10 year period I once had 4 at the same time and being very patriotic I had a red one (vampire) a blue one (V1000) and then I had one ()V1000) painted White. The Hesketh@s are quite a rare machine Lord Hesketh's factory only produced around 150 to 180 machines before going bust but restarting on a smaller scale resulted in a few V1000 and Vampires being produced (Vampires being with fairing and loads of engine mods). Lord Hesketh was badly let down with the engine designers (see www. Hesketh Motorcycles) I traveled around 5,000 mile on these machines the only problem I had was a sprag clutch fault (electric starter sprag)which is a common fault. The bike were very tall and heavy, a handful in the British traffic but the bike came into its own when cruising over 70mph ideal bike for camping weekends
sadly now I have sold all my Heskeths but I enjoyed them while I had them. My ugly mug (face) can be seen with the White V1000 Hesketh at Bristol docks and my neice on the Big Red Vampire at Buxton Derby. I have now go over to the much lighter Triumph 500 Daytona's (old age)
