Las Vegas Auction 2015
Thurs-Sat, January 8-10

For over 23 years, MidAmerica Auctions has been having legendary motorcycle auctions at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas every January. This has helped to make MidAmerica the largest motorcycle auction house in the world. I have been a regular attendee and been treated to 700-or-so amazing bikes every years. This year is no different, with over 750 incredible machines crossing the auction block. Well...there is one difference. Since last year, MidAmerica has sold out to Mecum Auctions, and this year is the first under the new banner. 3 solid days of incredible deals on some fantastic bikes, along with more than a few records broken for highest selling price.

Here's what Mecum has to say:

For the fifth straight year, Bonhams has returned to Vegas with another collection of jaw-dropping classic motorcycles and tons of cool memorabilia. As always, it will be held at Bally's Hotel & Casino, which is a fun place to go anyway. They've got a great car collection on permanent display there that will knock your socks off! Bonhams usually has 200-300 bikes on hand, including complete collections. Expect lots of good deals, also expect some records to be broken. They do a nice job of scheduling this one-day event to end Thursday evening, just in time to go over to the open of the Mecum (formerly MidAmerica) auction at the South Point. They have a cooperative, symbiotic relationship it seems, and it does benefit both auction houses. Here's what Bonham's has to say:

Bonhams will return to the Bally's Hotel and Casino for the 5th annual Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction on Thursday January 8th, 2015. Bonhams achieved record-breaking success at The Las Vegas Auction earlier this year, showcasing its expertise in maximizing the value of collectors' motorcycles. 2015 is already destined to be another outstanding auction with many desirable motorcycles consigned.
