Royal Enfield 1949 Frame 1935 350CC SV
by Karl Brenner
My Father bought this engine back in mid 1960 where it was used to drive a water pump for irrigation on a large property in Melbourne (Australia). We (he) thought it would be better used in a Go-Kart and survived as such for many years. I am now a Grandfather and it's time I put the engine back where it belongs, back in a motorcycle frame.
I believe it to be a 1935 350cc Side Valve "C", complete with its 4 speed gearbox.
I haven't been able to find a 1935 frame but have found a 1949 frame that I am considering modifying to suit.
More than happy to be corrected on the year/model of both and any information on any aspect of both would be greatly appreciated.
I am not necessarily restoring it to its former glory but most certainly building it as either a custom or café racer with as much retro gear and looks as possible.
You most certainly have my permission to use the photos & text about my motorcycle in any way you want on your website, without compensation to me.
Kind regards all
