Hello You completely missed out the Norton Manxman 650 twin Built well before the 650SS The 650SS was Built from 20th of September 1961, And in Polychromatic Blue with large tank 3.1/2 gallon painted mudguards painted primary chaincase ,so it had more painted parts and less chrome parts, and a black seat cover, The Manxman 650 was But from the 7th of November with engine number 18-93601 workshop Number 7 and 18-93602 workshop number 1 bike were taken off the line for more sorting out and testing, so the Workshop Number do not run in number order. The Norton Manxman Had more Chrome than any Norton Built before it or after , And it had this Own exhausts and silencers made in house at Bracebridge st by there crafts men also the machine had a 2.1/2 gallon tank in a peanut shape, painted in Polychrome Blue with a Red seat with White Piping , they had twin Amal 398 carburetors at first then they were changed to Twin Amal 367, They also have Sleeves fitted in the inlet tracks and had a 18 inch rear wheel , the 650ss as the 19 inch rear wheel , and The Manxman was built in limited numbers only 668 ever built, I have all data on these iconic Motorcycles Yours Anna J Dixon Founder member , of the Norton owners Club East yorkshire branch
